The beautiful and tiny female Ruby Throated Hummingbird, Archilochus colubris, has emerald green plumage and a long beak that enables it to reach deep into the feeder for the nectar. Hummers are inquisitive and attracted to the color red, hence the red feeder! This particular hungry female Hummingbird was at this feeder just after the rain had stopped in Guelph Ontario Canada.
