This buck was swimming across the lake from one island to another during rutting season in Lake of the Woods Ontario, when we narrowly escaped running into him. Was he kicked off the island by a more superior buck or was he meeting up with a doe on the next island? Either way, he was at risk of getting hit by a boat in the receding light so we stayed to make sure he got to the island safely before we left so he wouldn't be impacted by other late night fisherman heading home for the night.
