Nothing is quite so symbolic of summertime in the Canadian wild, especially in the northern Ontario lakes, as the calls of the Common Loon. Common Loons have long been considered by many North Americans as beautiful and special, symbolizing wilderness and solitude. Many cottage-goers and campers would feel their trip was incomplete without seeing a loon or listening to its haunting call. We were quite pleased to see and hear so many Loons at remote Bonar Lake Ontario Canada, a wilderness northern Ontario lake.
