Rarely do we get the chance to observe the elusive caribous of the Chics Chocs mountain range in Gaspésie. Although they are the same species as the ones found north of the province of Quebec, they are specially adapted to mountains (mountaineer ecotype). I was fortunate enough to witness the start of the rut period on a high summit last September. These two were "fighting" just by Lake Quiscale.
