These few minutes were so much fun to watch. I was on my way back from my little stakeout spot at the end of the day where I'd tried to photograph a very shy marten as it was foraging for food, without much success. From a ways away I watched as a family of 10 or 12 river otters came swimming along the shore. They would dive down and come back up with a morsel of food and all hop out on the closest rock to eat it together, then diving back in to start the process all over again. This photo was taken just as the otter responded to a noise in between bites.
