This is a juvenile male Wood Duck. These ducks have quickly become my favorite duck! I was walking along a path that went on a boardwalk through a pond and he was standing there just off to the side as I came up. He looked at me and figured I wasn’t a threat so he tucked all up again for a snooze. I can tell he’s going to be gorgeous once his colors get darker.
