For the first year in several years now, we had the perfect habitat for the shorebird migration... I was there almost every day, before and after work. That was such a treat especially seeing a few rare birds and of course the ones I always love seeing such as the Semipalmated Plover and this gorgeous Sanderling. They nest only in the High Arctic but in fall and winter you can find them on nearly all tropical sandy beaches throughout the world.
