Reading about the baited and harassed Hawk Owl in Schomberg, Ontario, at the beginning of January, was upsetting. So, my husband and I decided to go out and find "our own" Hawk Owl. We went into Quebec and after a little while, we did find our own Hawk Owl, completely alone, without any other people around. It was great to see the owl performing naturally in its habitat. Exact location not disclosed due to the sensitivity of the species.
