It was exciting to witness the parenting instincts of the eared grebe. I had a great vantage point to capture some intimate interactions between the parents and their chick without interruption. The chick perched on the back of one of its parents and was waiting eagerly for the other parent to return with some food, constantly scanning the water’s surface in anticipation.
