This was the first time I saw a Night Heron. I was looking down the pond and happened to turn around on time to see this beauty flying towards me. Thankfully I managed to get this photo of him because after this it would be almost a year before I saw another one. They are so elusive compared to the Blue Heron that sits out in the open.
