A Bear's Reflection

While exploring a lake just outside of Carmacks YT, I noticed a large animal making its way out of the bush. Less than 100m away, it was the largest grizzly bear I’ve ever seen. It slowly made its way to the edge of the lake and didn’t seem to mind my presence. As it started walking along the shoreline away from me, I took my dog back to the car and grabbed my camera. By the time I returned the bear had made it to the other side of the lake and was grazing on protein-rich sedge grass. With a comfortable distance between us, I could take the time to appreciate this majestic animal as it paused to stare at its own reflection.
