Damsleflies jockeying for a perch

There were many dozens, if not more than a hundered, of the common Bluets Damselflies all jockeying for this single perch sticking out of the water. Every once in a while a wave would wash over it, with the race for the perch starting anew. This went on for well over an hour, and still going on strong when I left.
