Black Skimmers feed by skimming along the water with their bottom long narrow mandible in the water until they feel a fish. When contact is made they snap their bill shut. They often feed at night because they find food by touch, not sight. This bird ended up travelling towards me and I was able to get this picture as the sun was setting.
