Whenever I got the chance to visit Ottawa I would make a point to take a walk in this what I refer to as a "mini-pine forest." Too often I don't come across anyone making no "sense of place." On this wet spring morning I was happy to capture this scene: a mother and her two children had finished picking some mosses for a particular in their backyard. I love the colors of the buckets that make a beautiful contrast. I also love the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: Who leaves the pine-tree, leaves his friend, unnerves his strength, invites his end. I come to this mini-pine forest to appreciate the beauty and serenity within, breathe the fresh air, to lose my mind and to recharge myself. With all due respect to Henry David Thoreau I don't come out "taller than the trees" but humbled by what the beauty of nature has provided us.
