Although late for the peak flowering season I was happy to come across some trillliums that are regarded as the spring ephemeral. I was more than delighted to find an intact red trillium seen here back lit by the morning sun. I had to lie low to take the shot. The wet ground was not very inviting although the water drops from the overnight rain on the petals were pleasing.
