I took this photograph on a dark, wet February day. I had travelled quite a ways for a chance to see this uncommon visitor for the first time, and was not sure I had picked the right day. The snow was thick, I was cold and beginning to lose hope, when this little owl appeared and began hunting for voles among a vast field of pink blueberry plants. It was a magical moment and the 10th owl in my quest to photograph the owls of British Columbia.
