Bait Drop

One of my favourite things to witness is watching bald eagles hunt. In the summer, big bait balls of herring form in the cold, nutrient rich waters of the British Columbia coast. Eagles like to take advantage of this and continually swoop down to grab as many fish as possible. It can be difficult to hold to such slippery small fish, such is the case with this eagle, who just realized it has dropped its catch.
