I found this short-eared owl hunting in a field not far off from the hustle and bustle of city roads and traffic lights. My first thought was that the background disrupted the scene, but I quickly grew to appreciate and love the glittering lights and lines that framed the owl on its sign-post perch. Owls are remarkable for their ability to adapt to the structures and development of human beings. A favourite song played in my head as I framed this shot to show the magic and enigma of urban owl life.
