Fortymile Caribou on a Ridgeline

This photograph was taken in the Yukon along the Alaska highway west of Dawson City. Each year the Fortymile herd passes through the area during their annual migration, and I happened to be lucky enough to witness it—a childhood dream realized. Just two days later the 84,000 strong herd was gone.
