A Little Help

I have helped many a turtle cross when needed. I was in the east end of Algonquin Park in September and spotted this tiny Snapping Turtle hatchling on the dirt road. It was covered in sand and was pretty camouflaged. I got out and found another one who had been run over. This one may have suffered the same fate, so I took it to a quiet bit of water, very close by. There was the black netting along the way, so it would have had a very hard time making the journey by itself. Given that all of Ontario's turtles are on the Endangered Species list, I really try and help out when I can. I do love turtles and they are a super important part of our ecosystem!
