This is a photo of 2 rhinoceros auklets resting on a log in the Salish Sea in British Columbia. While we see them frequently, it is not often that we get them sitting still long enough to get a good look! These little birds grow horns on their bills during mating season which is where their name comes from. Given the visible horns on these two, it's possible they were a breeding pair.
