Here is one of my favorite images taken this season. Minke whales are difficult to photograph because they are very fast and very unpredictable. It is relatively common to see minke whales feeding on the surface, but I have never managed to photograph this show. It's interesting to see how the whale goes about filtering the food, while we can clearly see the water coming out through its baleen. The pink throat is also typical of a feeding minke whale. Indeed, since the whale exerts great effort, the small blood vessels in the throat are activated and give this pink tint.
