Occupying a space between "urban" and "wild," Toronto's urban coyotes move, mostly unseen, through Canada's largest city. Despite the fact that our human presence impacts nearly every aspect of their lives, they somehow manage to hunt, den, and raise their young among us. On a busy weekend morning, I watched this coyote trot through a busy parkette, skillfully avoiding threats of off-leash dogs, parents with strollers, and busy roadways. Despite so many people out and about, most never even knew he was there. Even as the line between our habitat and theirs continues to blur, I snapped these few shots before the coyote quietly disappeared, somehow vanishing into a bustling city before my very eyes.
