This photograph hold a special place in my heart. At first it seems like a nice landscape photograph of the magnificent chic-choc mountain range in Gaspésie, Québec. On a second look you can see a resting caribou in the bottom right corner. He seems peacefull. Finally with a bit of background information you understand he has a broken leg and will most probably not survive the harsh winter of the mountains. If he dies we lose about 4% of the remaining population of 25 Caribou south of the Saint-Lawrence river.
