Sandcut Beach takes its name from the stunning waterfalls that flow directly into the ocean. This popular tourist destination on Vancouver Island can often be crowded during the day. However, I had always hesitated to visit at night, concerned about encountering wildlife. This year, I finally found a companion willing to join me for a nighttime adventure to capture the majestic Milky Way. During the summer months, particularly in May and June, the Milky Way graces the southeastern sky, aligning beautifully with the coastline. While many visitors admire the beach during daylight hours, few realize its breathtaking allure on moonless, cloudless nights. This photograph is a composite of 119 consecutive shots, each with a 10-second exposure for the sky and 30 selected images for the foreground.
