What an incredible year for aurora enthusiasts! The Sun reached its solar maximum, part of its 11-year cycle, and unleashed a remarkable number of coronal mass ejections toward Earth, especially from May 10 onward. The auroral displays on May 10–11 were extraordinary, with the lights visible as far south as regions near the tropics, a phenomenon so rare it is not in the records for even 500 years back. Witnessing the auroras dance for the first time is an unforgettable experience, and I’m thrilled that so many had the chance to see this breathtaking spectacle this year.
