A Caribou Sunrise

I left early on this beautiful but cold morning in search of any wildlife I could find. It has been a while since I last saw a moose or fox or anything else for that matter. I was waiting for the golden sunlight to reveal something in my vicinity but it remained very quiet and uneventful. I took a break and decided to grab a coffee somewhere. After coffee I decided to drive to a different area and was disappointed again so I decided to turn my attention to a somewhat dramatic landscape with backlit trees and an interesting sky. After trying a few different compositions I took one last look around and was just about to give up when I saw a small herd of Caribou crossing a farmer's field. I remembered passing a field with some cabbage still in the ground. So I snapped a few photos in the current location and moved to the field with the cabbage. There was only one caribou there but the others showed up not long after. I spent about 2 hours waiting for them to move to an area where the light was right. This was one of the resulting photos.
