In this photo, a male common Goldeneye duck is diving to go fishing in the cold Northumberland strait, in the narrow section that hasn't frozen in February. I am inspired by water and movement and in this shot, I wanted to try and capture this duck's amazing diving skills. We can see its reflection and the splash it generated both in front and in the back of this diving duck. I liked the smooth rounded dip created in the water in the back of the duck and larger circular shapes surrounding it. This was a hard shot to try and capture, as they dive very quickly!
