This photo takes an abstract turn, with the unique shape of part of the tail of a Long-Tailed duck as it dives under water. I think this amazing diving duck would do well in Olympic diving, generating so little splash! I wanted to capture the elegant curved vertical shape it created with a delicate splash of droplets in the air, in contrast with the horizontal soft ripples on the water in the background. I am very inspired by salt water and the constant movement in the water. (I hesitated whether to include this photo in either Aquatic life or Things with wings. Please feel free to switch categories if needed).
