This photo is a close-up of small sea foam patches on the salt water’s surface and a tiny ripple in the water (at the center of the bottom portion of the photo) adds a contrasting texture. I wanted to try to capture this smooth texture in the water and rich tone of blue in this dynamic sea world that never ceases to fascinate and inspire me, ever since my childhood. The sea foam “patches” in this abstract photo reminded me of the inside of oyster shells! Sea foam is part of a productive marine ecosystem and plays a role in the ocean's carbon cycle. It can be home to algae, etc.
