The gulls weren’t dispersing like they do when an eagle flies over, so my attention was grasped a little bit deeper to find the culprit of the chaos in the sky. As I stepped outside I could see that gulls were diving and reaching at one particular bird, but I couldn’t make it out till it swooped low by me and I saw the distinct colours patterns. A Red Tailed Hawk now landed on the rocks by the helicopter pad and I rapidly made my way across the grass and then slowly up the embankment. Evidently once I reached the top, the Hawk was not pleased that I was in the area and began to circle and dive at me with an intense stare. I moved on quickly from the area to allow the bird to return to its perch and the potential meal that had attracted the rare sight to Race Rocks.
