The Western Grebes literally walk on water..... well maybe run. This time of year is the best time to find the Western Grebes in their "Rushing or Dancing" courtship rituals. Coming towards each other with their heads low to the waters surface, spraying or "spitting" water at each other, then rising up and running on the surface in synchrony. This "Rushing" part of the courtship, completes their monogamous bond, giving way to a new partner the next year.
