The temperature was around -25 Celsius on a January morning. I waited patiently, shivering under a camouflage throw blind, while a resting flock of ducks slowly drifted toward me. I captured this image of a Northern Shoveler, coated in ice. It shows the remarkable resilience of waterfowl in extreme winter weather. I had to boost my car to start it to return home.
