We took a drive and not seeing a whole lot of wildlife close enough to photograph. So I decided to walk along the road where there was a bunch of sagebrush still in bloom. I was seeing a lot of flies on them, and when I got to this bush, I saw something green and shiny. I got excited as I realized it was some type of metallic bee. So I knelt down in the gravel and started taking photos, this male bicoloured striped-sweat bee was so active, it was hard to focus on him, especially with how small he was. I was surprised I found him, but his metallic green really sparkled in the sun.
