Returning home to Vancouver Island for a visit after some time away felt wonderful. On my first morning back, I headed to Esquimalt Lagoon to watch the sunrise, and it didn't disappoint as its golden rays danced across the sea and warmed my face in the chilly November air. I love where I moved to the Kootenays but where the tides eb and flow will always feel like home.
