Having not seen the Woodland Caribou herd for several days, I was out scouting on a wet stormy day when I spotted a solitary caribou standing on the side of the road. I stopped, then witnessed the herd emerging from the shoreline, so I positioned myself in the middle of the road to await the bull leading a section of the herd across the road. They grazed by the roadside before heading into the bush.
