This past Fall, my wife and I took some time to venture out to Elk Island National Park just to see what we could see and enjoy some quality time together in nature. Little did we know, we would witness an absolutely jaw dropping moment. As we came around the bend just past Astontin Lake, we began to hear what sounded like dozens of Sanhill Cranes somewhere in the distance. When we initially stopped and pulled over we couldnt quite see them but we could hear them. Then, all of a sudden, a huge swoop of Cranes came flying over the treeline and directly above us. In that moment, hundreds of them flew over and I managed to capture some pretty amazing shots from directly below.
