A middle of the night departure plan from my home in Thornhill - and a dark three hour drive - was needed in order to arrive in time for an autumn sunrise at Lake of Two Rivers. An effort for which my good friend and I were duly rewarded as we enjoyed watching a most beautiful, ethereal sunrise unfold as cool air mist clung to the lake water. A moment of magic happened as my telephoto lens found two canoeists paddling directly away from me, into the mist and towards the distant hidden shore, with layers of muted fall colours and fog dramatically rising in the background.
