Mic drop moment for me! Bathed in the hush of dawn, a mother loon calls gently across gilded waters. In the golden stillness, her breath hangs in the air like incense blessing her perfect new hatchling. The baby loon regards the soft serenade of an adoring parent. An ancient, iconic, Canadian sound that will forever resonate deep within our souls. Her call is familiar, but as soft as sleep and lands on my welcome ears as if in a dream. Nestled safely on her back, her chick will learn the mournful yodels in due time by for now is cradled not just in warmth, but in the quiet rhythm of love, light, and lullaby. They drift together through liquid gold suspended in a moment too sacred for words. Together, they are a poem in motion — written in light and sound, captured forever in this photo. This was her first successful baby in 7 years. Taken very early on July 1st – Canada Day!
