For forty-five minutes, the sky blazed with golds, oranges, and deep reds, reflected perfectly in the snow free frozen lake. The juxtaposition of the frozen lake, the fiery sky, and the rugged silhouette of the mountain created a fleeting, almost surreal scene—a reminder of the extraordinary beauty hidden in Canada’s winter wilderness and the remarkable ways light and landscape can interact.
