Locked Eyes

I was walking along the Sheep River pathway in Okotoks with my dog when I noticed a group of magpies and ravens gathered across the river on the other side of some bushes. A raven had flown to a tree beside me and I saw they had a chunk of meat, so I knew that there must be a kill on the other side. I had taken a few steps back to get a better look at the raven when I was drawn to looking to my side. That is when I saw this coyote standing on the river. My dog and I just looked at them while they looked back. I quickly grabbed my camera feeling I was a safe distance away and that the coyote wouldn't be bothered by us. After a few pictures they returned to behind the bushes.
