Belted Kingfisher Endures the Snow

It was a beautiful snowy day and big snowflakes were falling. I was out walking my dog when I heard the little noise that I have come to know as the Belted Kingfisher. I couldn't believe this one was still around. I have been trying to take a picture of them all summer. I thought to myself, "How cool would it be to take a picture of a Belted Kingfisher in the snow". I knew I had to stay quite far away as usually when I get somewhat close they fly away. I took this picture with my long lens then cropped it for composition.
