Hurricanes push volumes of sea water up the coast from the tropics. In the late summer and early fall, tropical visitors are transported to the shores of Nova Scotia. I've been trying to see a sea horse in Canada for a few years but was always too early. This year I delayed my trip for a month. A sea horse was spotted at a site after I arrived. They are usually found in eelgrass in shallow water. I spent 90 minutes of my dive looking methodically through the patches of eelgrass before I found this one.
