Hurricanes push volumes of sea water up the coast from the tropics. In the late summer and early fall, tropical visitors are transported to the shores of Nova Scotia. While I was diving, I spotted a yellow blob the size of a quarter moving around in the eelgrass. I didn't know what I saw but stuck around with it getting as many shots as possible. After some deliberations with local biologists and some tropical experts, it was determined that this is a juvenile Honeycomb Cowfish and is recognized as the first sighting in Canadian Waters.
