Enjoying time with out-of-town friends over the Christmas holidays, we get out into nature on the second to last day of the year and go for a walk along Whiffen Spit in Sooke, BC. We spot a white-crowned sparrow perched on a log with its beautiful crown of black and white on display, and I stop to capture one of my final photos of 2025. Looking back, what a year it's been! I think I can say I spent almost all 365 days of it with a camera slung around my neck outdoors in nature, shooting wildlife and landscapes in the sun, extreme heat, freezing cold, the rain, sitting in muck, eaten by mosquitoes, hiding in tall grass and behind trees. Travelled through 2 provinces and 6 USA states, having spent 8 months of the year living in my RV doing what I love, photographing all the beauty and blessings around us. What a year!
