A beautiful female grey seal (Halichoerus grypus) seemingly poses for the camera on Sable Island National Park (43.9337° N, 59.9149° W). Taken in December of 2024 just before the breeding season begins for the greatest grey seal colony in the world, December is only pregnant females finding their place to bring their young into the world. It was special to capture this female under the pink hues of sunset in the days or hours before she became a mother.
