Marshes and wetlands are essential to a healthy environment. At this pond, female Water Striders attach tiny, jelly egg clusters just below the waters surface to the undersides of floating leaves and vegetation. There is a distinct eyespot at one end of the egg and when they are close to hatching, the egg becomes red.
