This photograph shows an adult Red Fox pausing while observing her surroundings near an active den site. During the encounter, she remained alert and still for several moments, scanning the area before briefly turning her attention toward the camera. Her focus shifted repeatedly between distant movement and nearby sounds, a typical vigilance behaviour for an adult fox responsible for young in the area.
