This photograph captures a brief interaction between a Red Fox mother and her kit at an active den site. During the encounter, the mother remained close to the young fox, repeatedly grooming and repositioning it while staying alert to her surroundings. In one moment, the kit turned directly toward the camera while the mother was still engaged in close contact, creating a rare glimpse of both their behaviour and awareness of the environment at once.
