At the end of a walk in Kananaskis in mid-winter, a snowshoe hare ran out in front of me. Perfectly adapted to the snowy winters of the Canadian Rockies, its large, snowshoe-like feet help it move across deep snow, while its white winter coat provides excellent camouflage.
